How Many Players Can Play Big Walk?
Big Walk supports 2 to 12 players. The game is designed to be played in a group:

Since Big Walk is a cooperative game made to be played with the same group across sessions, it's designed for playing with people you know — or want to know better — rather than random matchmaking.
How to Invite Friends to Co-Op
- Join Code: A Join Code is a short, unique code generated every time the host starts a session. The host shares the code with friends so they can join.
- Friends list: If your friend is on your platform's friends list (like Steam or a console), their hosted game will automatically appear in the menu of active friend games.
To control who joins, it's recommended to set a password that you share only with the people you intend to play with.
Voice and Text Chat in Co-Op
Big Walk is built around a proximity voice chat system that makes communication feel natural and playful. Your voice sounds different up close, far away, in a tunnel, over a walkie-talkie, or behind soundproof glass. There's also a proximity text chat with the same features and intentional limitations.
Both voice and text chat are essential to the experience. Using external chat like Steam or Discord circumvents the intentional friction of some puzzles — the developers note that in-game chat is "the key to making the game fun."
Crossplay Co-Op
Big Walk supports crossplay, so players on different systems (PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2) can play together. For a single session, version numbers only need their first two numbers to match.
